Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Amending The Meeting Location Of The Commission On Aging; And Amending The FY2023-24 Local Roster Of Boards, Commissions And Committees Accordingly Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the above-entitled Resolution.
Background
On March 1, 2023, the City’s Advisory Bodies returned to in-person meetings after California’s COVID-19 State of Emergency ended. The City Council updated the Advisory Body Rules of Procedure to allow for hybrid meetings, and staff worked to upgrade two public meeting locations with hybrid technology: the Garden Level conference area at the Civic Center, and Conference Room B at the Emeryville Center of Community Life. Most of the City’s advisory bodies meet at one of these locations.
Discussion
The Commission on Aging (“Commission”) currently meets at the Senior Center, located at 4321 Salem Street, Emeryville, California. During their meeting on July 12, 2023, the Commission discussed and agreed that they wish to change their meeting location to allow for a hybrid-format meeting to increase public participation. As such, the Commission would like to amend their meeting location to meet at the Emeryville Community Center of Life, located at 4727 San Pablo Avenue, Emeryville, California. The Commission will continue to convene at 10:00 AM on the second Wednesday of every month, unless otherwise amended and noticed.
