The City of Emeryville, along with other East Bay jurisdictions, is under a Consent Decree with the Federal EPA to improve the City’s sanitary sewer collection system to reduce infiltration and inflow during wet weather. Accordingly, the City is proceeding with the rehabilitation of the existing sanitary sewer mains throughout Emeryville. For Fiscal Year 2022-23, the rehabilitation includes spot repairs at various locations throughout the City.
Public Works Staff developed the plans and specifications for the Sanitary Sewer Spot Repairs Project, Project #15511005, and on July 18, 2023, the City Council approved the scope of work and authorized the City Engineer to advertise the project for public bidding. Shellmound Street, Ohlone Way, 53rd St, West MacArthur Boulevard, Lacoste Street, Vallejo Street, Park Avenue, 65th Street.
