Why are you interested in serving on this Board, Commission or Committee? I am interested in serving on the housing committee for the city of Emeryville because I have a genuine passion for helping others and advocating for affordable housing and community development. My experience in the real estate market and familiarity with city and local governments make me wellequipped to contribute effectively to the committee';s goals. As a mother living in Emeryville, I have a personal stake in ensuring that my daughter, and others like her, have the opportunity to purchase a home in the city and enjoy all that it has to offer. My dedication to community betterment and creating a sustainable future for residents makes me an ideal candidate for the housing committee, where I can make a meaningful impact on the housing landscape of Emeryville.

PLANNING COMMISSION APPLICANTS ONLY
Please provide a short (300 words or less) statement discussing your ideas and attitudes about planning in Emeryville. Please consider issues such as traffic, industrial and commercial development density, affordable housing, maintaining community diversity and jobs/housing balance.

In Emeryville, planning embodies a delicate balance between accommodating industrial and commercial development while prioritizing community needs such as traffic management, affordable housing, and maintaining diversity. Recognizing the importance of managing density, the city should aim to foster sustainable growth that respects the existing character of neighborhoods. Affordable housing initiatives are central to this vision, ensuring that all residents, regardless of income, can access quality housing within the city limits.

I believe that preserving community diversity is paramount, as Emeryville seeks to create an inclusive environment where individuals from all backgrounds feel valued and represented. As the city evolves, careful consideration needs to be given to job creation and economic opportunities, ensuring that development initiatives promote both prosperity and equity. Emeryville';s planning efforts should strike a balance between commercial growth and residential needs, fostering a vibrant urban landscape where residents can live, work, and thrive.

Through collaborative decision-making and proactive planning strategies, the city will be able to shape a future that reflects the aspirations and values of its diverse population.

I would like to bring more family businesses to the area, more family-friendly establishments.

Currently, besides the park and Habitot, there is nothing for the children. I would like to see more indoor playgrounds for rainy days, jump houses etc.
