Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Accepting The Sanitary Sewer Spot Repairs Project, EPW 23-005 (CIP #15511005) As Complete And Authorizing The City Engineer To File A Notice Of Completion With The Alameda County Clerk
WHEREAS, the City of Emeryville, along with other East Bay jurisdictions, is under a Consent Decree with the Federal EPA to improve the City’s sanitary sewer collection system to reduce infiltration and inflow during wet weather; and; and WHEREAS, accordingly, the City is proceeding with the rehabilitation of the existing sanitary sewer mains throughout Emeryville and for Fiscal Year 2022-2023, the rehabilitation includes spot repairs at various locations throughout the City; and; and WHEREAS, Public Works Staff developed the plans and specifications for the Sanitary Sewer Spot Repairs Project, EPW 23-005 (CIP #15511005) and on July 18, 2023, the City Council approved the scope of work and authorized the City Engineer to advertise the project for public bidding; and; and
WHEREAS, the scope of the project included performing sanitary spot repairs at the following locations:
53rd Street and Emery Bay Dr, 53rd Street and Hollis St, Shellmound St, Ohlone Way, and West MacArthur Blvd; and
WHEREAS, On November 7, 2023 the City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into a contract with Corcus Construction Inc. of San Francisco, CA in an amount not to exceed $460,685 to perform the work of the project; and WHEREAS, The project is now complete and ready for acceptance by the City Council.
A Notice of Completion must now be filed with the Alameda County Clerk; and WHEREAS, Corcus Construction completed the work of the project for a total cost of $406,243.63 which is less than the contract amount of $460,685; and WHEREAS, the project is being paid for from the Sewer Fund (Fund 511, CIP#15511005) and the General Fund (Fund 475, CIP#ESI-01); now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville hereby accepts the Sanitary Sewer Spot Repairs Project, EPW 23-005 (CIP #15511005) as complete and authorizes the City Engineer to file a Notice of Completion with the Alameda County Clerk; and, be it,
