Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Amending The City Of Emeryville Master Fee Schedule For Fiscal Year 2025
WHEREAS, the City of Emeryville provides various services and programs to the public and collects fees to recover the cost to the City in providing such services and programs; and
WHEREAS, a comprehensive user fees and charges study was conducted in fiscal year 2016 to determine the cost of providing services for which the City charges fees; and WHEREAS, annually, the fees charged for certain City services are reviewed and appropriately adjusted to reflect the addition of new programs and the cost to the City of Emeryville to provide these services; and
WHEREAS, the fees charged for a service may not exceed the cost of providing the service; and
WHEREAS, the City has complied with the notice and publication requirements provided by Government Code Sections 66016 and 66018; and
WHEREAS, on May 7, 2024, a public hearing was held and the City Council approved Resolution 24-50 adopting the Fiscal Year 2025 Master Fee Schedule; and WHEREAS, since that time, the Finance Department has received several requests from City departments to add or amend existing fees in the Fiscal Year 2025 Master Fee Schedule; and
WHEREAS, the fees charged by the City of Emeryville need to be revised to reflect additional services and changes in the costs of various services provided by the City as described in the staff report dated July 2, 2024, and as set forth in the Fiscal Year 2025 Amended Master Fee Schedule attached hereto as Exhibit “A”; and WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on July 2, 2024 to consider the Fiscal Year 2025 Amended Master Fee Schedule; and
WHEREAS, the new or amended fees would go into effect 60 days after the public hearing of July 2, 2024; now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville hereby amends the City of Emeryville’s Fiscal Year 2025 Master Fee Schedule to modify fees as shown in Exhibit “A”, attached hereto and incorporated herein.
