Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Authorizing The City Manager To Enter Into A Contract With Fresh Start Painting Co. In An Amount Of $172,308.00 For The Civic Center Exterior Painting Project No. 16650015 And Authorizing The City Manager To Increase The Contract By $35,000 For A Total Not To Exceed Amount Of $207,308. CEQA Determination: Exempt Under Section 15061(b)(3)
WHEREAS, the scope of work for this project includes removal of corrosion, seal leak, and paint the exterior surface of the Old City Hall building as well as painting wooden windows. The work also includes repainting steel columns, steel girders, deck soffit, fascia assembly, sunshade assembly and handrails and cleaning the metal panels and window mullions and glass of the New Civic Center Building; and WHEREAS, the project was formally advertised on June 12, 2024, and WHEREAS, on July 1, 2024, 8 bids were received for the project, with the lowest responsive bid coming from Fresh Start Painting Co. in the amount of $172,308.00 which is significantly below the Engineer’s Estimate of $275,000, and WHEREAS, additional contingency work may be required during the course of the project; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in CIP book number FM-04 Project 16650015; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Fresh Start Painting Co. in an amount of $172,308; and, be it, further
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the City Manager is authorized to increase the contract by $35,000 for a total not to exceed amount of $207,308; and be it, further
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that said Project is determined to be exempt under State CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3).
