Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Authorizing The City Manager To Purchase Two 2024 Westward Industries GO-4 Gas Model Parking Utility Vehicles In The Amount Not To Exceed $101,744.78 From Turf Star Western WHEREAS, public safety requires that parking enforcement officers be provided with vehicles that are safe to operate and free of maintenance problems; and WHEREAS, this is a non-scheduled replacement of two 2020 Westward Industries GO-4 EV (electric vehicles) experiencing significant repairs in excess of $39,000 within 3 ½ years of use, with an additional expected $25,000 in repairs to existing electrical malfunctions; and
WHEREAS, staff used Sourcewell Competitive Purchasing to ensure that the product and system meet the requirements of the Emeryville Municipal Code and Administrative Instruction directive 605 which provide for an exception to typical procurement procedures for piggyback contracts; and
WHEREAS, funds have been identified in the City’s Vehicle Replacement Fund (Fund 660) to replace two Police Department parking enforcement utility vehicles; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Emeryville authorizes the City Manager to purchase two Westward Industries GO-4 Gas Model parking utility vehicles in an amount not to exceed $101,744.78 and to appropriate said funds from Fund 660.
