Staff recommends that the City Council/Successor Agency adopt the above-entitled resolutions amending the October 2024 through January 2025 City Council/Successor Agency meeting schedule.
Background
On December 19, 2023, the City Council/Successor Agency adopted Resolution Nos. 23-170 and SA13-23, setting the regular meeting calendar for the period February 2024 through January 2025.
At the September 17, 2024, City Council meeting, Vice Mayor Mourra requested and received majority support for an agenda item cancelling the November 5, 2024, regular City Council/Successor Agency meetings and calling for special meetings on October 29, 2024. November 5, 2024, is the date of the next General Election.
Discussion
Additionally, staff is requesting to cancel the January 7, 2025, regular City Council/Successor Agency meetings. Historically, the City Council/Successor Agency has not convened on the first Tuesday in January. This first meeting in January was adopted as part of the regular meeting schedule because there is only one regular meeting in December.
Staff have discussed the agenda calendar for the rest of 2024 and determined that all City business can be accomplished with one meeting each in November 2024, December 2024, and January 2025.
The amended meeting calendar will include three meetings in October on the 1st, 15th, and 29th; one meeting in November on the 19th; one meeting in December on the 10th; and one meeting in January on the 21st.

Conclusion
Staff recommends that the City Council/Successor Agency adopt resolutions amending the meeting schedules for October 2024 through January 2025.
