Second Reading And Adoption Of An Ordinance Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Amending Article 14 Of Chapter 5 Of Title 9 (Planning Regulations) Regarding Accessory Dwelling Units And Junior Accessory Dwelling Units (CEQA Status: Exempt Pursuant To Public Resources Code Section 21080.17, Which Provides That CEQA Does Not Apply To The Adoption Of An Ordinance To Implement The Provisions Of Article 2 [Commencing with Section 66314] Of Chapter 13 Of Division 1 Of Title 7 Of The California Government Code Section Pertaining To Accessory Dwelling Units) Recommendation
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the above-referenced ordinance, amending Article 14 of Chapter 5 of Title 9 of the Emeryville Municipal Code, “Planning Regulations”.
DISCUSSION
The City Council introduced and waived the first reading of the attached ordinance on September 17, 2024 with the changes recommended by staff as described in Attachment 1.
The staff report for the September 17, 2024 City Council meeting, which provides a detailed explanation of the proposed ordinance, is also attached for reference (Attachment 2).
