Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Authorizing The City Manager To Approve A First Amendment To The Existing Agreement With Monarch Plumbing And Rooter Inc. For Sanitary Sewer Testing And Repair Services In The Amount Of $229,978.00 And Appropriating $248,514.00 To The Rehabilitation Of City Sewer Laterals Project CIP# FM-15, Project No. 20650006 From Fund 650 WHEREAS, on October 22, 2024, the City of Emeryville (City) entered into a contract with Monarch Plumbing and Rooter Inc. (Monarch) for Sanitary Sewer Lateral pressure testing and repair services for City-owned sewer laterals in the amount of $75,000; and WHEREAS, Monarch has completed the completed the pressure testing scope of services and provided the City with cost estimate to execute a round of repairs and further investigation of the City Sewer Laterals in the amount of $231,258.00; and WHEREAS, $1,280.00 of contract capacity remains available under the current contract with Monarch; and
WHEREAS, the City is named as a defendant in the Final Consent Decree of Consolidated Case Numbers C 09-00186-RS and C 09-05684-RS (CD); and WHEREAS, the CD compels the City to ensure that all sewer laterals that serve City Properties and/or City-owned sewer laterals are in compliance; and WHEREAS, the Rehabilitation of City Sewer Laterals Project is CIP# FM-15, Project No. 20650006 and financed by the Major Maintenance Fund, Fund 650; and WHEREAS, there exists adequate funding in the Major Maintenance Fund, Fund 650; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the City Manager is authorized to execute a First Amendment to the Professional Services Contract with Monarch Plumbing and Rooter Inc. for additional services as described in Exhibit A-1; and, be it, further
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Emeryville that the total compensation for the First Amendment to the Professional Services Contract with Monarch shall be increased by $229,978 for a total contract amount not to exceed $304,978, and appropriate $248,514 from Fund 650 to CIP Project#FM-15, Project No. 20650006.
