Resolution Of The City Council Of The City Of Emeryville Acting As The Disaster Council Of The City Of Emeryville Authorizing Volunteers To Attend CERT Academy Training In The Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Under The City’s Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program In Compliance With The California Emergency Services Act (ESA), Government Code 8585.5 And Within The Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program Regulations, California Code Of Regulations (CCR), Title 19, §2570-2573.3
WHEREAS, The City of Emeryville’s Emergency Organization Membership includes volunteer forces, including Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to aid during an emergency; and
WHEREAS, Training is required to be a certified CERT volunteer; and WHEREAS, Such training includes basic fire suppression, utility control, light search and rescue, triage and shock treatment and will aid volunteers in effectively assisting in response to a disaster; and
WHEREAS, Certified training for CERT is conducted by the Alameda County Fire Department and that volunteers who successfully complete the CERT Academy will be enrolled as Disaster Service Worker Volunteers; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Emeryville acting as the Disaster Council of the City of Emeryville authorizes volunteers to attend ACFD’s CERT Academy Training in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 under the City’s Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program in compliance with the California Emergency Services Act (ESA), Government Code 8585.5 and within the Disaster Service Worker Volunteer Program Regulations, California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 19, §2570-2573.3.
