Menu Development Rationale
Kid Menu, Family Style Serving
Each meal is designed to provide a balance of proteins, carbohydrates, vegetables, and fruits, all served family-style. At Patatas, we strive to adhere to the guidelines established by the Nutrition Standards for CACFP Meals and Snacks., ensuring your children receive the best nutrition possible.
At Patatas, we prioritize health and quality:
• All our meals are prep and made from the scratch on the day of delivery to guarantee the freshest and highest quality.
• We choose free-range chicken and red meat, ensuring our ground beef is free from nitrates and nitrites. No artificial trans fat is used.
• All of our vegan proteins are plant based.
• Our meals feature whole grains like whole-grain pasta and brown rice, limiting refined grains. • We do not use high fructose, corn syrup or added sugar to prepare our meals. • To ensure that are fruits and vegetables are as fresh as possible, food deliveries from our local vendor arrive daily each morning.
• All of our meals are separated into distinct portions: protein, grains, vegetables, and fruits. They are delivered in stainless steel trays, each labeled by grade. Meals for students with dietary or allergy restrictions are delivered separately in stainless steel lunch boxes, with the student's name and grade level clearly labeled on each box.
• All of our milk is free of BST growth hormone. No flavored milks are used. Milk stock is reviewed daily.
• We are a nut free kitchen.
Equipment Needed
Patatas operates in the commercial kitchen at The Emeryville Senior Center. We are equipped with a freezer and refrigerator room, stove, ovens, worktables, and a production line enough to cover all the program needs. The commercial kitchen passes all health inspections and maintain a safe and sanitary work environmental. All our employees have completed and passed Food Handler Safety Courses.
Are delivery team is equipped with Thermo Cambro Boxes to assure our hot lunch meals arrive at the proper temperature.

Addressing Issues
We are available by phone from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm. We can be reached via phone or email.
Voice messages left after hours are responded to the following morning. Emails are usually responded to within 1 hour. We have demonstrated that we are very responsive to all requests.
When corrective action is needed, we work together to quickly resolve the issue.
Duration and Experience
Patatas was founded in 2012 by Marcos Quezada with the mission to bring a distinct food brand to the Bay Area with a unique sensibility for freshness and comfort. Born and raised in Chile, having then lived abroad in Spain, and Mexico, Marcos has earned a reputation for his home cooked style meals that prioritize balance, nutritious and joyful dining. After having worked in local farmers' markets across the Bay Area, the Patatas team gained experience in recognizing the needs of the community. The Patatas team has 12 years of experience preparing and delivering meals to Tech companies all throughout the Bay. Most recently, as well as catering, Marcos was the owner of Patatas Kitchen located in the heart of Emeryville. The experience as a local small business allowed the Patatas team to interact and grow alongside the neighborhood.
Marcos currently lives in Emeryville with his wife in two daughters.
As a proud father of two young women, Marcos knows that balanced, healthy meals are vital to a child's growth and development. His journey began at home, striving to find the perfect balance between what kids will eat and what they enjoy. Today, this passion shapes the children's menu at Patatas.
Plan and Pricing
Our family style Meal Plan A for the program includes the following components:
Meal Service: Lunch and Milk Service.
The total proposal cost for your program as listed above is $10.90 per child per day.
Meal Service = $10.90 (taxable)
Please note: The price is contingent on not paying The Emeryville Senior Center commercial rent fees.

TO THE CITY OF EMERYVILLE: In compliance with the notice inviting bids, the undersigned hereby proposes to furnish all necessary tools and equipment, materials, labor, and supervision (including cost of Workers' Compensation Insurance and all payroll taxes on such labor) to provide the above, in accordance with the Special Provisions and Specifications and City of Emeryville General and Work Conditions therefore, and further agrees to enter into a Contract therefore, at the prices listed in the accompanying proposal. All costs, except sales tax, must be included in the submittal.
NOTE:
A. Submittal is to include the number of calendar days delivery will be made after receipt of a City of Emeryville purchase order; and
B. This purchase requires City Council award. As such, regarding vehicles that are currently in inventory, the City must depend that the vehicle offered is available upon award. The City will notify bidders as soon as possible of the intent to award to a specific bidder and the probable Council award date. If a bidder offers a vehicle as "immediately available" but "subject to prior sale" (or similar language), the bid will not be considered and will render the entire bid submittal unresponsive.
