RE: Business License Tax Review, year 2023
Emeryville Business Center, 1250 45" St., Emeryville
Dear Finance Director,
| recently had a review of my Business Tax License Fees by your consultants and disagree with one of their findings for the year ending 2023.

One of the items they included in gross receipts was a reimbursement for emergency services for a water main break. The amount issued by my carrier was for $23,116.26. | believe that this reimbursement for emergency services should not be included in the “sross receipts’ although it might be a bookkeeping category. The business tax code doesn’t cover what would be considered a “Fire and Life” item which this was.

We paid the license fee but would like to get a reimbursement for this item, however small it might be.

Sincerely,
Jf, fn ge fii AGO
Ron Silberman
