MINUTES OF THE ENCINITAS CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 15, 2025, 4:00 P.M., 505 SOUTH VULCAN AVENUE
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Mayor Ehlers called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Present: Mayor Bruce Ehlers, Deputy Mayor Joy Lyndes, and Council Members Jim O’Hara (arrived at 4:03 p.m.), and Luke Shaffer
There is one vacancy on the City Council – District 4.
Absent: None.
Also present: Interim City Manager Campbell, Deputy City Manager Sapa’u, City Attorney Preziosi, Administrative Services Director Schwarm, General Manager Hireish (Item #1), Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Director Knopp (Item #2), Special Counsel Rod Coppedge (Item #1), City Clerk Hollywood, and Deputy City Clerk Weichers
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.

REPORT FROM CLOSED SESSION
City Attorney Preziosi reported at the 6:00 p.m. regular City Council held a Closed Session at approximately 4:00 p.m. to discuss four matters on the Closed Session agenda and recessed out of Closed Session at approximately 6:15 p.m.; and regarding the four closed session matters, no reportable actions were taken. City Attorney Preziosi also stated that Deputy Mayor Lyndes had to depart from the Closed Session and was not present for the last two items on the Closed Session agenda.
