MINUTES OF THE ENCINITAS CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
MARCH 5, 2025, 4:00 P.M., 505 SOUTH VULCAN AVENUE
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Mayor Ehlers called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.
Present: Mayor Bruce Ehlers, Deputy Mayor Joy Lyndes, and Council Members Jim O’Hara (arrived at 4:03), Luke Shaffer, and Marco San Antonio
Absent: None
Also present: Interim City Manager Campbell, Deputy City Attorney Smith, Acting Deputy City Manager Schwarm, City Clerk Hollywood, and Management Analyst Rapp
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.
CLOSED SESSION
1. CLOSED SESSION: PUBLIC EMPLOYEE EMPLOYMENT
AUTHORITY: Government Code 54957 and 54957.1 a5
TITLE: City Manager
There were no public speakers.
Mayor and City Council adjourned into Closed Session at 4:01 p.m.; and reconvened the meeting into open session at 6:11 p.m.
REPORT FROM CLOSED SESSION
Mayor Ehlers reported that the City Council held a Closed Session at approximately 4:01 p.m. to discuss one item on the Closed Session Agenda – Public Employee Employment – City Manager and unanimously agreed to appoint Jennifer Campbell as City Manager and will consider approval of compensation and employment agreement at the March 19, 2025, Regular City Council Meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Ehlers adjourned the meeting at 6:13 p.m.
