MINUTES OF THE ENCINITAS CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 15, 2025, 3:30 P.M., 505 SOUTH VULCAN AVENUE,

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Mayor Ehlers called the meeting to order at 3:31 p.m.
Present: Mayor Bruce Ehlers, Deputy Mayor Joy Lyndes, Council Members Jim O’Hara, Marco San Antonio, and Luke Shaffer
Absent: None
Also present: City Attorney Preziosi, Assistant City Manager Schwarm, City Clerk Hollywood, and Deputy City Clerk Weichers
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.
CLOSED SESSION
1. CLOSED SESSION: PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AUTHORITY: Government Code 54957
TITLE: City Attorney
There were no public speakers.
The Mayor and City Council adjourned into Closed Session at 3:32 p.m.
REPORT FROM CLOSED SESSION
Mayor Ehlers reported at the 6:00 p.m. regular City Council meeting that the City Council held a Closed Session at approximately 3:30 p.m. to discuss one item, and the City Council voted 5-0 to terminate the City Attorney contract with Jones Mayer within 45 days and proceed with selecting an interim City Attorney.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Ehlers adjourned the meeting at 4:18 p.m.
