2. Informational Update regarding City of Escalon's Surface Water Connection Project with South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID)
City Manager Romo introduced Bradley Waldrop and Nick Pritchard from Ardurra, the City's professional service provider for engineering services and City Engineer.

Bradley Waldrop gave a presentation on Escalon's surface water project with SSJID.

Councilmember Engle asked in regards to the funding is there a time limitations, such as the grants that SSJID has offered to help the City obtain.

Bradley Waldrop explained that he has been in the federally funded project's business for a long time and that generally there is a sunset date to the money the City is given. If the City can prove going forward and it is not sitting inactive then they will generally continue to provide that funding.

Councilmember Engle questioned how far the City is currently in providing information that SSJID needs to be able to help the City.

Bradley Waldrop stated he believes it by this summer.

Councilmember Strohman voiced that the City should look into how much revenue could be generated if the City sold extra water to Tracy. If the City is selling enough to Tracy to justify a larger above-ground tank, does it make sense to put in a larger tank because the City would be paying off the larger tank for the long term by selling off that extra water to the City of Tracy. He thinks it would be helpful if Council went to SSJID to take a tour and saw the system. The more Council is educated, the better.

Bradley Waldrop said SSJID has been very accommodating and they are very proud of their plant.

City Manager Romo advised she will make arrangements for a tour.

Councilmember Strohman asked if this presentation PowerPoint could be emailed to the Council.

City Manager Romo advised she can email it out to them.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, Mayor Bellinger adjourned the meeting at 8:19 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted,
Clichmod
Courtney Richmond, Deputy City Clerk
