Subject: October 2025 – Treasurer’s Report and Monthly Summary Reports Recommendation:

Accept the Treasurer’s Report and Monthly Summary Reports for the month ending October 31, 2025.

The Monthly Summary Reports for the General Fund shows the Adopted Budget for Fiscal Year 25-26 alongside the Year to Date (YTD) expenses for the period. Three years of historical actuals for revenues and expenses are provided for context.

Strategic Plan Priority:

This item is consistent with the Escalon Strategic Plan Priority #2, Fiscal Stability, in that it proposes to bring clarity and transparency to city financial reporting.

COUNCIL AGENDA ITEM
FOR NOVEMBER 17, 2025
Prepared By: Ivette Arevalo, Recreation Commission Secretary Date: October 27, 2025
Subject: Monthly Recreation Update- October 2025
Below is a summary of the October 2025 Recreation Department activities.

Basketball
Registration for the 2026 season opened on October 1, 2025. This will be our third year participating in the Jr. NBA league. The 2025 season included 326 registered players. Games are expected to follow the same format as last year, with the youngest division playing on weekday evenings and all other divisions playing on Saturdays.

As of this report, there are 340 registered participants. Regular registration closes on November 1, and late registration will be open November 1–17, as space permits.

Staff has reached out to local community members as well as Recreation Commissioners for support in coordinating player evaluations and coach and player skills clinics. These items are still in progress.

Flag Football
The 2025 flag football season began October 11 with a record 380 players, including 102 females.

Registration ran from July 8 to August 26, followed by evaluations on August 27 and 28. The draft was held in two sessions to manage the large number of teams, with an emphasis on smaller rosters for a better playing experience. A new rulebook was created to align with soccer, and the online flag football page now provides coaches with resources including rules, playbooks, drills, and player development curriculum.

The 2025 Flag Footballseason will also pilot high school referees in the U6 division, giving local youth officiating experience with training from experienced referees.

Yoga
Gentle Flow Yoga, a 6-week class taught by Annette Wing, is held on Thursdays at 6:00 PM at the Escalon Community Center. The October 9–November 20, 2025 session had 9 participants.

Upcoming sessions are scheduled for December 4–18, 2025, and January 8–February 12, 2026.
