Dear Supervisor 1 iaupt.
In order to promote Siskiyou as a premier destination for film and television production. 1 urge the Board to consider naming Discover Siskiyou as the ofllcial California Film Commission (CFC) designee for Siskiyou County. As COVID-19 restrictions lift and production ramps back up in the Golden State. it‘s more important than ever to ensure we have an engaged entity consistently pitching Siskiyou as an ideal film and television production location.
Discover Siskiyou's extensive knowledge ofour local assets, strong relationships with lodging properties, and library of high-quality photo and video assets make the program an ideal entity to partner with the CFC. Discover Siskiyou Program Director I leather Dodds has indicated that the program staff is able and eager to perform CFC designee duties including responding to production alerts, maintaining a high-quality website, producing sizzle reels, and assisting producers with logistics including permitting, lodging, and transportation.
Should the Board be interested in pursuing this further, I would be happy to attend a meeting to discuss the City's support of leveraging Discover Siskiyou’s marketing team to further benefit our local communities.
