SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ETNA CITY COUNCIL
Friday December 5, 2025
Members of the Etna City Council met on this 5
th day of December in person and
TELECONFERENCE (Zoom). Mayor Pro Tem Brandon Fawaz called the meeting to order and led in the salute to the flag of the United States of America.
1. Call to Order:
a. Pledge of Allegiance
b. Roll Call
Council members Brandon Fawaz, Jason Deppen, Matt Eastlick, and John Stacher were present.
2. Public Comment:
None.
3. Current Business:
a. Budget Amendment of $30,000 for the Etna Fire Department and Authority to Purchase a 2008 KME Predator 1500 Type 1 Fire Engine for $23,000 Councilmember Deppen made a motion to approve, Councilmember Stacher seconded and the motion passed.
Ayes: Deppen, Stacher, Eastlick, Fawaz
4. Closed Session:
a. Conference with Real Property Negotiators (Gov. Code §54956.8) Property: 337 Main Street, Etna CA (APN: 056-032-180)
Negotiating Parties: Andrew L. Jared, City Attorney (City of Etna) Darrin Mercier for Linda Moak (Property Owner)
Under Negotiation: Price and terms of payment
Councilmember Fawaz and Mayor Munson recused themselves due to their property being located within 1,000 feet of 337 Main Street.
The City Council directed the City Attorney Andrew Jared to move forward on the property negotiations, and the Council is set to meet again at a special meeting on December 10, 2025, at 7:00 am to discuss this further.
