The City Council of the City of Eureka met in REGULAR Session on the above date, 5:00 P.M. Closed Session, 6:00 P.M. Open Session, at the Eureka City Hall, Council Chambers, 531 “K” Street, Eureka.

Mayor Bergel attended the Christian Association Motorcycle Breakfast and enjoyed getting to meet the members. Mayor Bergel also spent time at Bayview Village, meeting residents and has enjoyed attending the Summer Concert series on Thursdays.

Ordinance 961 C.S., “An Ordinance of the City of Eureka Amending Eureka Municipal Code Title 15, Chapter 155 (the Zoning Code) to add Gulch Greenway Overlay Zone Regulations as Subsection 155.224.050, and Amending the Inland Zoning Map to apply the Gulch Greenway Overlay Zone to Various Parcels within the City. The following subsection is hereby added to the Title XV (Land Usage), Chapter 155 (Zoning Regulations), Section 155.224 (Overlay Zones).”, motion Carried.

I.2 Construction Phase 1 GMP for Eureka Operations Complex - Special Project Manager Katie Marsolan provided a report.

Leslie Castellano moved, seconded by Scott Bauer, Authorize $7,659,000.00 as the not to exceed amount to Swinerton Builders for the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) contract for Phase 1 construction services, and available contingency, for development of the Eureka Operations Complex Project No. 2024-19; and Authorize $273,000.00 (not-to-exceed) to Swinerton Builders for supplemental pre-construction service for Phase 2; and Authorize $324,000.00 (not-to-exceed) to Scott Edwards Architecture to perform construction administration services for Phase 1 and continued design services; and Authorize City Engineer to negotiate and execute applicable contract documents; and Authorize budget allocation in the amount of $8,256,000.00 to account 240-4700- 7024, motion Carried.

Councilmember Contreras-DeLoach attended an emergency shelter Ad-Hoc and has met with many constituents about Greenways and Gulches Ordinance, attended Friday Night Market, will attend CalCities Coastal Forum.
Councilmember Bauer, will attend a CalCities governance meeting Councilmember Moulton, attended Friday Night Market and will be Directing NorthStar Quest Camp, additionally will be going to Japan at the end of the month to celebrate Kimasu 20th Anniversary, Eureka’s Sister City.
Councilmember Castellano, took a tour to Chamber of Commerce group, and with Supervisor Arroyo facilitated an HTA meeting.
