Marie Arroyo, Senior Administrative Assistant
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the requested street closures for the annual City of Exeter Christmas Parade between 3:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Friday December 5, 2025.

For decades, families have gathered in downtown Exeter to enjoy the parade and celebrate the holiday season.

The annual Christmas Parade is one of Exeter’s most anticipated events, attracting thousands of residents and visitors to downtown. The festive celebration highlights the spirit and magic of the holiday season.

To accommodate the growing popularity of the parade, staff is requesting an extended parade route to facilitate additional community members to be able to attend. The parade is planned to begin at the traditional staging area on B Street and Rocky Hill/Pine Street, heading west, then turning south on F Street to Chestnut Street, and continuing east on Chestnut Street to disembark at D Street. Additional street closures are requested for Pine Street (F Street to G Street) for public safety, and E Street (Palm Street to Exeter Mural Gallery to allow space for food trucks and family activities. The City of Exeter Recreation Department will lead the parade logistics, with support from other city departments as needed.

The Public Works Department will post notices and provide barricades, while the Exeter Police Department will ensure public safety throughout the event.
