SUBJECT: Adoption of Resolution Authorizing the Display of the Ukrainian Flag __________________________________________________________________________________
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the attached Resolution Authorizing the Display of the Ukrainian Flag.
DISCUSSION
Mayor Hellman requested this item be added to the agenda for the Council’s consideration. The attached resolution authorizes the display of the Ukrainian flag on the flagpole mount on the front wall of the Town Hall building to express the Town’s official welcome to a young woman from Ukraine who is arriving in Fairfax this week.
This action is consistent with the Council’s Flag Display Policy, which allows for the display of a commemorative flag when requested by a Town Council member and authorized by the Town Council as an expression of the Town’s official sentiments.

RESOLUTION 22-___
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRFAX
AUTHORIZING THE DISPLAY OF THE UKRAINIAN FLAG
WHEREAS, a young woman who hails from Ukraine is arriving in Fairfax this week; and WHEREAS, to welcome her to the community, the Town Council wishes to display the Ukrainian flag;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax hereby authorizes the display of the Ukraine Flag on the flagpole mount on the front wall of the Town Hall building Fairfax Town Hall for the month of August.
The foregoing resolution was duly passed and adopted at a meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax on the 3rd day of August 2022 by the following vote, to wit:
