SUBJECT: Adopt a Resolution Establishing the Council’s Regular Meeting Date in July 2023 on July 12, 2023
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the resolution.
DISCUSSION
The regular monthly Town Council meetings are set by Town Code on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm, except for January and July due to the holidays in those months.
Town Code Section 2.08.010 allows the dates of the January and July regular meetings to be established by resolution of the Town Council.
Last November, the Town Council adopted Resolution 22-90, establishing its January and July meetings in 2023. Specifically, it set the July meeting on July 5, 2023, the first Wednesday of the month. However, this falls in the week of July 4th, which tends to be a time when people take vacations due to the July 4th holiday. Therefore, staff is recommending moving the meeting to the Wednesday of the following week, July 12, to maximize public participation.

RESOLUTION 23-__
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRFAX
ESTABLISHING ITS REGULAR MEETING DATE IN THE MONTH OF JULY IN CALENDAR YEAR 2023
WHEREAS, Town Council regular meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month except for January and July due to the holidays in those months; and WHEREAS, Town Code Section 2.08.010 allows the dates of the January and July regular meetings to be established by resolution of the Town Council; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 22-90 the Town Council set its July 2023 regular meeting date on July 5, 2023 and now wishes to change that date; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax regular meeting date in the month July in calendar year 2023 is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.
The foregoing resolution was duly passed and adopted at a meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax held in said Town on the 1st day of March 2023 by the following vote:
