GOAL SETTING RETREAT
Friday, March 17, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. until approximately 3:00 p.m.
Preceded by a Special Meeting at 9:00 a.m. to Conduct a Closed Session Fairfax Women’s Club, 46 Park Road, Fairfax (in person only) 9:00 AM – CALL TO ORDER – ROLL CALL – APPROVAL OF AGENDA PUBLIC COMMENT. Public comment will be received on the closed session matter listed below before the Council adjourns to the closed session (closed to the public).

ANNOUNCEMENT OF CLOSED SESSION ACTION
Reporting on any action taken at the closed session will be done in open session at the beginning of the Town Council’s regular meeting on April 5, 2023.

PUBLIC COMMENT. Public comment will be received on the Retreat topics.
ANNUAL GOAL SETTING RETREAT (Topics not in order of discussion) • Councilmember interactions/relationships
• Conduct team building exercise
• Staff and Town Attorney interactions with the Council and Council expectations and requests • Council policies and protocols regarding the expectations commissions, committees, JPA’s and Council or Staff liaisons to different groups
• Review/discuss role of Town-appointed committees and commissions • Discuss Town communication of priorities, including staff report formats, agenda setting process, meeting length
• Council meeting and administrative protocols, process, time management, and related issues • Review/discuss staffing resources
• Review/discuss Town accomplishments of 2022 and Strategic Plan • Discuss/consider possible goals, priorities, budgetary/organizational issues, and projects/programs for 2023
