RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a Resolution to change the regular meeting place and time of the Volunteer Board to the Women’s Club at 5:00 p.m.
DISCUSSION
The Fairfax Volunteer Board regular meetings are currently set on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Center. However, the Community Center is no longer available for public meetings, as the space is needed for staff offices. Therefore, all Town meetings must take place in the Women’s Club.
Unfortunately, the Women’s Club is reserved on the fourth Monday of the month for the Towns’ Tree Advisory Committee regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. Therefore, Staff is recommending changing the Volunteer Board meeting time to 5:00 p.m., to allow them enough time to meet prior to the Tree Committee.
The Volunteer Board considered and is amendable to this recommendation.

RESOLUTION 23-__
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRFAX
CHANGING THE REGULAR MEETING PLACE AND TIME
OF THE VOLUNTEER BOARD
WHEREAS, the Town Council first established the Fairfax Volunteer Board (“Volunteers”) dedicated to volunteerism in and around Fairfax decades ago; and WHEREAS, the Volunteers’ mission is to foster goodwill in the Town of Fairfax through implementation of a volunteer program that will meet the Town’s and community’s needs; and
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Board regular meetings are currently set on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Center; and WHEREAS, the Community Center is no longer available for public meetings and all Town boards, commissions, and committees must meet in the Women’s Club; and WHEREAS, the Volunteer Board is amenable to moving their meeting time to 5:00 pm in order to accommodate the 7:00 p.m. meeting of another Town Committee on the same day of the month in the Women’s Club;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of the Town of Fairfax, that effective upon adoption of this resolution, the Fairfax Volunteer Board regular meetings shall be held in the Fairfax Women’s Club on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
The foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the Fairfax Town Council of the Town of Fairfax held in said Town on the 5th day of April 2023, by the following votes, to wit:
