SUBJECT: Reappoint Jody Timms to the Climate Action Committee
RECOMMENDATION
Reappoint Jody Timms to serve another full two-year term to the Climate Action Committee until July 15, 2025.
BACKGROUND
The Climate Action Committee (“CAC”) was established to implement the Climate Action Plan, adopted by the Town Council on February 5, 2014. Its mission is to mitigate the production of greenhouse gas and compile existing and potential strategies to address climate change.
CAC develops an annual action plan as well as any recommended amendments to the Climate Action Plan. In addition, the committee keeps a scorecard to track actions taken to greenhouse gas reductions.
DISCUSSION
The Town Council first appointed Jody Timms to the Climate Action committee in 2015. Her term expired on June 30, 2023. Jody has served in the capacity as Chair to the Committee since the Spring of 2022.
Jody has brought an exceptional energy to this position and committee. Her continued willingness, excitement and commitment to volunteerism and a climate conscious world are greatly appreciated.
