Subject: Town Council meeting 08/02/2023 items 1 and 2 public comment Dear Council,
Please do not repeal Ordinances 870 and 871 tonight. Should the TC remedy all concerns about the petition certification, only then allow the action to run its course according the ELEC 9215.

The Item 1 ballot initiative measure is merely a bump in the road and a step backward. It is contrary to the trends throughout the county and state for rental protections.

In the meantime, as agendized with Item 2, please continue your important work tailoring the language of Ordinances 870 and 871 to be fair to all stakeholders in Fairfax. I fully appreciate the constructive time you are taking reviewing these ordinances and seeking balance.

Thank you as a supporter of fair rental protection.
