Homeless Encampment

To:Fairfax Town Council <[email protected]> We read with alarm a recent article in the Independent Journal about an incident at the homeless encampment behind the ballfield. According to the article, some woman started a fire and caused an altercation which lead to her arrest. This is extremely disturbing and we would like to know what the Town intends to do about this situation. Are we going to allow people to camp on public property, build lean-to shelters next to the Pavilion, pollute the creek and start illegal fires. We would like to hear if the Town has any plan at all to deal with this situation. We would like to suggest that the Town prohibit anyone from living on public property. It is not set aside for camping and it’s dangerous.
