TOWN OF FAIRFAX PROCLAMATION
PROCLAIMING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH
MARCH OF 2024
WHEREAS, American women of every race, class, and ethnic background have historically contributed to our Nation's strength and the vibrant community of Fairfax, California; and
WHEREAS, the National Women's History Month 2024 theme, “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion,” reflects the enduring spirit and commitment of Fairfax’s women to creating a community that values and practices equality, embraces diversity, and ensures inclusion for all; and
WHEREAS, women in Fairfax have significantly shaped our town's economic, cultural, and social fabric through both professional and volunteer efforts, embodying dedication and resilience; and
WHEREAS, the establishment and growth of Fairfax's charitable, philanthropic, and cultural institutions owe much to the visionary efforts of its women, marking them as essential pillars of our community; and
WHEREAS, women of Fairfax have been at the forefront of social change, advocating for rights, equality, and justice, reflecting their unwavering commitment to making our community and society more inclusive and fair; and
WHEREAS, the contributions of women to Fairfax's history and progress, akin to their impact nationally, have often been underrecognized, necessitating a dedicated effort to acknowledge their roles and achievements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED, Mayor of the Town of Fairfax, California, hereby proclaim March as Women’s History Month in Fairfax. I urge all residents to celebrate this month with activities and reflections that honor the invaluable contributions of women to our community's legacy and future.
