RECOMMENDATION
Adopt the resolution setting the regular meetings of the Climate Action Committee (CAC) to 6:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the Fairfax Women’s club.
BACKGROUND
The Climate Action Committee was initially formed on February 5, 2014, as a subcommittee of the General Plan Implementation Committee (GPIC), pursuant to Town Council Resolution 14-10. Its primary purpose was to develop and facilitate the Climate Action Plan (CAP) as outlined in the Conservation Element of the 2010-2030 General Plan.
On July 15, 2025, the Town Council adopted Resolution 15-26, recharacterizing the CAC as a standalone Town Committee, separate from the GPIC, with members serving four-year terms. Since the establishment, the CAC has lacked a formally set meeting time and date by Council resolution.
The proposed resolution formally establishes a regular meeting schedule that aligns with member availability and venue availability at the Fairfax Women’s Club.
DISCUSSION
At their last regular meeting, CAC committee members participated in a poll to determine a regular monthly meeting based on their availability and that of the Fairfax Women’s Club.
The committee unanimously decided that the regularly scheduled meeting of the CAC will begin at 6:00 p.m. and will remain on the third Tuesday of the month.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.

RESOLUTION 24-
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRFAX
SETTING THE REGULAR MEETING DATE, TIME, AND PLACE FOR THE CLIMATE ACTION
COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Climate Action Committee (CAC) was originally established as a subcommittee of the General Plan Implementation Committee, and open to members beyond those on GPIC proper; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council established the CAC as a Town committee in 2015, per Resolution 14-10; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council now wishes to set the CAC's regular meeting date, time, and place; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax that the CAC shall meet regularly on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Fairfax Women’s Club.
The foregoing Resolution was duly passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax held in said Town on the 6th day of November 2024, by the following vote, to wit:
