TOWN OF FAIRFAX PROCLAMATION
Proclamation Recognizing the Fairfax
Department of Public Works Crew Members
WHEREAS, public works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities, and services that are vital to sustainable and resilient communities and the public health, high quality of life, and well-being of the people of Fairfax, California; and
WHEREAS, the dedicated employees of the Fairfax Department of Public Works (DPW) provide essential services including street maintenance, stormwater management, parks upkeep, public facilities support, and emergency response; and
WHEREAS, the American Public Works Association has designated the third full week of May as National Public Works Week, providing an opportunity to recognize the hard work and commitment of public works professionals across the country; and
WHEREAS, the DPW crew members of the Town of Fairfax have exemplified excellence in service, including:
• Rudy Contratti, who has dedicated 39 years of service, demonstrating steadfast commitment and extensive institutional knowledge in support of the town’s operations; • John Tierney, who has contributed 20 years of reliable and skilled service, with a strong focus on maintenance, safety, and teamwork;
• John Friedman, who has provided 10 years of service, ensuring public spaces and infrastructure remain functional and welcoming; and
• Guy Norenius, who has brought energy and dedication in his first year of service, adding to the strength and resilience of the crew;
WHEREAS, the contributions of these individuals reflect the values of dedication, efficiency, and public service, benefiting every resident and visitor of the Town of Fairfax; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the Town Council of Fairfax hereby recognizes and commends Rudy Contratti, John Tierney, John Friedman, and Guy Norenius for their valuable contributions to the community and proclaims May 19–25, 2025 as Public Works Appreciation Week in the Town of Fairfax, encouraging all residents to acknowledge and express gratitude for the essential work of public works professionals.
