SUBJECT Reappoint Jody Timms to the Climate Action Committee
RECOMMENDATION
Reappoint Jody Timms to serve another full three-year term on the Climate Committee.
BACKGROUND
The Climate Action Committee (“CAC”) was established to implement the Climate Action Plan, adopted by the Town Council on February 5, 2014. Its mission is to mitigate the production of greenhouse gas and compile existing and potential strategies to address climate change.
The CAC works closely with staff and the Town Council to monitor and mitigate the production of greenhouse gas emissions by implementing the strategies outlined in the Climate Action Plan. Each year, the CAC develops an annual action plan in alignment with the CAP to address climate change.
DISCUSSION
The Town Council first appointed Jody Timms to the Climate Action Committee in 2015. Her current term will expire on July 31, 2025. Jody has served in the capacity as Chair to the Committee since the Spring of 2022 and has expressed desire to continue serving and volunteering on this committee.
Jody has brought exceptional energy to this position and committee. Her continued willingness, excitement and commitment to volunteerism and a climate conscious world are greatly appreciated.
