Proclamation of the Town of Fairfax
RECOGNIZING NOVEMBER AS
NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH
WHEREAS, the history, culture, and traditions of Native American and Alaska Native peoples have profoundly shaped this land and the lives of all its residents; and WHEREAS, Native American contributions — in community, governance, business, military service, art, education, and culture — have enriched the freedom, prosperity, and character of our nation; and
WHEREAS, the observance of a dedicated month to honor Native American heritage helps educate all citizens about the unique and enduring legacy of Indigenous communities, as well as the challenges they continue to face; and
WHEREAS, the Bureau of Indian Affairs affirms that November each year is “National Native American Heritage Month,” a time to celebrate traditions, languages, and stories of American Indian and Alaska Native communities; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, do hereby proclaim the month of November 2025 as Native American Heritage Month in the Town of Fairfax, and call upon all residents, schools, businesses, and civic institutions to join in celebrating and supporting the heritage, cultures, and contributions of Native American peoples.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Town of Fairfax to be affixed this 5th day of November, 2025.
