energized lines.

WHEN
Elevated wildfire risk is present, most likely
from May to November, but can occur
year-round in some areas.

During times of high winds, low humidity and

19 Improving Reliability in the Town of Fairfax
We are taking steps to improve
reliability on circuits protected by
EPSS in the Town of Fairfax.

Circuits serving the Town of
Fairfax:

San Rafael 1104
San Rafael 1108
Woodacre 1102
High Fire-Risk Area
Town of Fairfax
Locations are approximate and may overlap.

This includes: outages.

Installing five hazard identification devices
on the San Rafael 1104 and Woodacre 1102
circuits to improve the accuracy of hazard
detection and power restoration time.

Installing 15 outage location devices across
all three circuits to help identify exactly
where an outage occurred along the circuit.

Repairing and replacing three pieces of
equipment on the San Rafael 1104 and San
Rafael 1108 circuits to improve system
performance and reduce the size of outages
if they occur.

Vegetation Management
21 When trees are too close to overhead
powerlines, they can cause a power
outage or a wildfire.

That’s why each year we:

Inspect ~100,000 miles of powerlines
Perform additional inspections in areas with
increased wildfire risk
Trim or cut down ~1.5 million trees to prevent
wildfires and help ensure reliable power
Address dead, dying or hazardous trees
