FAIRFAX TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

STAFF REPORT
AGENDA ITEM #4.h
MEETING DATE May 6, 2026
PREPARED FOR Mayor and Town Council
PREPARED BY Kristin Arnold, P.E. Director of Public Works SUBJECT Adopt a Resolution Approving the List of Projects for Fiscal Year 2026– 2027 Funded by SB 1: The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017

RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution approving the list of projects for Fiscal Year 2026–2027 funded by SB 1: The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.

DISCUSSION
Senate Bill 1 (SB 1), known as the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 was created to address the need for more transportation funding in California. Each year, the California Transportation Commission (CTC) requires towns to submit an annual list of projects by July 1st to receive funding from SB 1. The project list must be adopted by resolution separate from the budget. The list needs to describe each project, its location, the proposed schedule for completion, and the expected lifespan of the improvements. CTC allows some flexibility to modify the list during the fiscal year.

The attached resolution includes the required project list. There is flexibility to change the project list if there is a change in priorities for the projects after we submit. If the funds are not enough to cover project costs in one fiscal year, the CTC allows jurisdictions to advance funds for projects and be reimbursed from future SB1 funds.

This project list was incorporated into the Town’s proposed FY26-27 budget.

The list is as follows:

Project Name Description
