The Honorable Catherine Moy
Mayor
City of Fairfield
1000 Webster St
Fairfield, CA 94533

Dear Mayor Moy and Fairfield City Council Members:

On behalf of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce (CHCC), we are wring to express our support for the Spanos Corporaon’s proposed mulfamily project in Fairfield. The CHCC and its network of over 125 regional Hispanic and Diverse chambers and associaons represent the interests of California's 815,000 Hispanic-owned businesses. Through advocacy, educaon, and empowerment programs, the CHCC brings California's small business issues and needs to the forefront of California and naonal polical agendas.

The Fairfield regional economy faces challenges similar to other communies in California, the geographic brain-drain of young professionals as they depart the region and opt for housing in the Bay Area. The Green Valley 3 mulfamily project provides the type of housing and amenies that atract young people and nearby military service members, who enhance the regional high-skills workforce, providing an atracve base for prospecve high-value employers. The CHCC is supporve of California achieving its housing goals and parcularly mulfamily development, where people living in dense housing use fewer resources and contribute less to climate change than people in single-family homes with landscaping and large spaces to heat and cool.

The housing shortage is not an unintended policy failure. California has a housing shortage because of decades of vong and organizing against housing. Adding supply at all levels helps protect exisng non- wealthy residents from being priced out of their homes. The CHCC is commited to advocang for smart policies which benefit Hispanic-owned businesses and their families by providing housing opons to allow mul-generaon proximity to family-owned businesses, high-wage jobs, and ulmately, business succession planning that leads to mul-generaonal wealth transfer.

The Spanos Corporaon is a longstanding supporter of the Hispanic business community at both the state level and in local communies. The company develops projects that endure and enhances the communies where they build. We urge you to support the development of Green Valley 3.

Sincerely,

Julian Canete Bob Guerrez
President & CEO Chairman of the Board
