3. Lobbying Services Contract Renewal — Anna Guiles, Assistant to the City Manager, reported that the three-year contract for Joe A. Gonsalves & Son was up for renewal in September. She stated the price would remain the same at $3,500 per month ($42,000 annually), and she will present this renewal to the City Council at the September 5, 2023, council meeting. Due to the City's long-standing relationship with Gonsalves, they charge a lower fee than other cities. Vice Mayor Bertani stated she would like the firm to attend more than one council meeting per year to give a legislative update. She also stated she would like the entire council to take a "field trip" to Sacramento to attend a legislative session in person and also meet with Assemblymember Lori Wilson. Councilmember Carr agreed.

Vice Mayor Bertani adjourned the meeting at 5:53 P.M.
