RE: FUNDRAISER FOR CITY LEAGUE FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP
Dear Mayor and Council members:
Below are my ideas for the City League Football Scholarship:
Mission Statement:
To raise funds via an art auction comprised of local artists. Proceeds to go towards a scholarship for children of financially challenged households to ensure their participation in City League Youth Football.
Steps to be Taken:
1. Artists to be obtained by running corresponding ads in the Daily Republic and local cable access station by late October/early November.
2. Auction items to be submitted by artists by January 3, 2024.
3. Gallery to be displayed by January 15, 2024 and run for the duration of the NFL playoffs.
4. Final bids to be processed the week before the Super Bowl 2024.
Madame Mayor and City Council members, I implore you to consider fast -tracking this project immediately. I understand the practicality of tabling an item for a following year, but please consider that at -risk children would fall through the cracks this upcoming season. Listed below are a few of the immediate needs to accomplish this task:
1. Assign a coordinator
2. Create a committee to discuss logistics and potential venues
3. Provide a location to meet regularly
Thank you for your consideration.
Respectfully,
lWtr Penn
