CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-277
ADOPTING UPDATES TO THE 2024 CITY COUNCIL HANDBOOK
WHEREAS, in 2004 City Council directed staff to prepare a handbook addressing council procedures and the responsibilities of council members and mayor; and
WHEREAS, the last update to the Council Handbook took place in December 2022; and
WHEREAS, at the April 5, 2022, City Council meeting, the council formed a subcommittee to review and provide staff feedback on updates for the 2022 Council Handbook; and
WHEREAS, staff worked with the subcommittee to update the Council Handbook to reflect operational changes and new policies enacted since December 2020; and
WHEREAS, a new chapter in the handbook was created centralizing polic ies of the City Coun cil related to procedures and responsibilities and will hereby serve as a formal policy manual of the Council; and
WHEREAS, the subcommittee has met with City staff to provide feedback and review the Council Handbook, and supports the proposed amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The City Council hereby adopts the 2024 Council Handbook as attached hereto.
