RESOLUTION NO. 2024-274
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD APPROVING THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO GHILOTTI BROS. INC., FOR THE HEART OF FAIRFIELD DOWNTOWN TEXAS STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – PHASE 1B
IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the bid opening for the Heart of Fairfield Downtown Texas Streetscape Improvement Project – Phase 1B Improvements (Project) took place on November 5, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder was Ghilotti Bros. Inc. (Ghilotti Bros) , in the base bid and maintenance bid amount of $1,357,637.80; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the bid documents from Ghilotti Bros. and found them to be in order; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending the City Council include Additive Alternate 1 and Additive Alternate 2 in the contract award; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the council award the contract to Ghilotti Bros. as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The plans and specifications for the Project are hereby approved.
Section 2. The city manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Ghilotti Bros. for the Project in the amount of $1,474,224.05.
Section 3. The public works director is hereby authorized to execute and administer change orders for an amount not-to-exceed 20% ($294,844.81) of the above contract amount.
Section 4. The city manager is authorized to enter into an escrow agreement for security deposits in lieu of retention for said contract, if necessary.
Section 5. The city manager is hereby authorized to implement the above-mentioned contract and escrow agreement.
