RESOLUTION NO. 2024-275
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD AND CAROLLO ENGINEERS INC. FOR
ON-CALL DESIGN SERVICES TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR HALE RANCH
ROAD TRANSMISSION MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING AN UPDATE TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2024-2025 BUDGET
WHEREAS, on February 26, 2024 , the City of Fairfield entered into a n on-call design services agreement for engineering design services for the Water Pipeline Freeway Crossing Project with Carollo Engineers Inc. (Carollo) for $250,000; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to secure additional design services from Carollo for the Hale Ranch Road Transmission Main Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the proposed scope of work by Carollo and determined the cost to be fair and reasonable; and
WHEREAS, Amendment No. 1 will increase total compensation by $417,290 to provide design services and add Hale Ranch Road Transmission Main Replacement to the on-call agreement executed on February 26, 2024; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds were not allocated for the project in the City’s approved fiscal year (FY) 2024-2025 Budget, thus requiring an adjustment of $167,290 to cover the additional design services; and
WHEREAS, the revised appropriation constitutes an update to the FY 2024 -2025 Budget approved pursuant to Resolution No. 2024-133.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement between the City of Fairfield and C arollo in an amount not-to-exceed $379,355.
Section 2. The city manager or designee is hereby authorized to execute and administer a management reserve in an amount not-to-exceed $37,935.
Section 3. Amendment No. 1 will increase the maximum fee by $417,290 for a total not-to- exceed contract amount of $667,290 from Water Capital Fund (Fund 462).

Section 4. The council hereby approves an increase in appropriations of $167,290 to Fund 462 for the Hale Ranch Road Transmission Main Replacement Project (CPW090063).
