STATEMENT OF ISSUE
Amend the Intergovernmental Services Fund (IGS) budget to incorporate an additional $194,948 in revenue and corresponding expenses.

DISCUSSION
The City of Fairfield was awarded $194,948 from a class-action ruling in favor of several cities in California (City of San Diego, et al. v Invitation Homes). These funds are unanticipated reven ue; the funds were received by the City via wire transfer in October 2024. The city manager directed these funds to be placed in the IGS for use by the Community Development Department. The Community Development Department has immediate and long -term ope rational needs that these funds can be used for in the current fiscal year as well as in future fiscal years in conjunction with other ongoing City projects. The planned use of these specific funds will include improvements to the 2nd floor of City Hall, the completion of an economic development marketing video to be aired nationwide, a comprehensive building fee methodology study, an analysis of the City’s development processes and procedures, and , if any funds remain , an analysis to catalog property blight on Texas Street and/or North Texas Street.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
These are one -time funds that will be utilized for expenses of the Community Development Department.
