CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-17
APPROVING A CONSULTANT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE SOLANO ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO PROVIDE STAFFING AND RESOURCE SUPPORT TO THE
TRAVIS COMMUNITY CONSORTIUM
WHEREAS, Travis Air Force Base is the largest employer in Solano County and represents a very large and important economic engine generating an economic impact of $2.6 billion; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfield is the lead agency and authorized to enter into contracts on behalf of the Travis Community Consortium (TCC), a regional partnership between the City of Benicia, City of Dixon, City of Fairfield, City of Rio Vista, City of Suisun City, City of Vacaville, City of Vallejo, Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District, Kaiser Permanente, Solano County, Solano E conomic Development Corporation (Solano E DC), Republic Services, Travis Regional Armed Forces Committee (TRAFC), and Travis Credit Union to collectively advocate for Travis Air Force Base ; and
WHEREAS, the TCC supports entering into a contract with Solano EDC to provide staffing and resource support; and
WHEREAS, Solano EDC consists of staff with the requisite expertise, knowledge, and contacts to support the TCC.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The city manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Fairfield that certain agreement for consulting services with Solano Economic Development Corporation for an amount not to exceed $37,500.
Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the use of funds from the Travis Community Consortium in an amount not-to-exceed $37,500.
Section 3. The city manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to implement this resolution.
