STATEMENT OF ISSUE
The adoption of the resolution accepts the Cadenasso Drive Pavement Reconstruction Project, Federal Aid Project No. STPL 5132-055 (Project) as complete.

DISCUSSION
On January 16, 2024, the City adopted Resolution 2024 -35 approving a contract with Mountain Cascade Inc. (Mountain Cascade) to reconstruct the pavement along Cadenasso Drive. The Project involved removing and replacing 1.7 feet deep pavement along a 1,000-foot-long section of the roadway, which is approximately 70 feet wide. Additional improvements included new striping and pavement markings, installation of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps, truncated domes, and a signal and communications i nterconnection conduit. The Project also included a 2.5-inch mill and overlay on Auto Mall Parkway from the driveway entrance of Home Depot to Cadenasso Drive.

The construction work commenced on April 29, 2024. Three change orders and one administrative c hange order were issued during the course of the Project, resulting in a total adjustment of $6,256.47. The first change order addressed the modification of a streetlight box discovered during construction, the second involved the filling of an existing ab andoned

manhole, and the third provided for the installation of a missing 4-inch conduit. Upon completion of the construction work, an administrative change order was processed to reconcile the contract amount due to quantity reductions in various contract items. The final punch list was completed on January 29, 2025.

The construction authorization for the Project was approved for $2,222,631. This amount included a total bid of $1,932,722 and a 15% contingency of $289,909. The final cost for the Project wa s $1,939,287 .47, which is approximately 12.74% below the amount authorized for construction.

Following the council’s acceptance of the Project as complete, a notice of completion will be filed with the County of Solano’s Recorders Office.
