CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-31
ADOPTING THE MATT GARCIA COMMUNITY PARK MASTER PLAN
WHEREAS, the Train Station Specific Plan calls for the development of a 50-acre community park previously referred to as the Northeast Fairfield Great Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted Resolution 2021 -212 to name the Great Park in honor of former City Councilmember Matt Garcia; and
WHEREAS, the City conducted a competitive process for a qualifications -based selection for design firms to provide professional design services for the development of a master plan for the Matt Garcia Community Park; and
WHEREAS, the City selected Gates + Associates Landscape Architecture to provide professional design services for the development of the Matt Garcia C ommunity Park Master Plan (Master Plan); and
WHEREAS, the Master Plan is a product of extensive community engagement and collaboration with stakeholders.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The Matt Garcia Community Park Master Plan is hereby adopted.
Section 2. The city manager is authorized to do all things necessary and proper to implement this resolution.
