RESOLUTION NO. 2025-54

AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE SOLANO COUNTY WATER AGENCY FOR A ONE-TIME TRANSFER OF UP TO 2,000 ACRE-FEET OF FAIRFIELD 2025 STATE WATER PROJECT WATER SUPPLIES WITH ANOTHER STATE WATER

CONTRACTOR

WHEREAS, the City receives water from the State Water Project (SWP); and

WHEREAS, the City has additional sources of water supply other than the SWP, consisting of Solano Project water from Lake Berryessa; and

WHEREAS, the City has adequate water storage reserves such that the City can do a one -time transfer of up to 2,000 acre-feet of SWP water without negatively impacting the City’s ability to meet the water needs of its customers; and

WHEREAS, the City also has the ability to transfer portions of its State Water Project supply to other State Water Contractors via the Solano County Water Agency (SCWA) and will seek to do so before San Luis Reservoir spills; and

WHEREAS, the amount of the City’s 2025 SWP transfer is estimated to be a minimum of $250 per acre-foot, to be received by the City of Fairfield Water Enterprise Fund; and
