CITY OF FAIRFIELD
RESOLUTION NO. 2025-56
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT TO GHILOTTI BROTHERS, INC. FOR THE CEMENT HILL WATER TREATMENT PLANT NEW ENTRYWAY
WHEREAS, the Cement Hill W ater Treatment Plant New Entryway Project (CPW070123) is required for the City to continue the Manuel Campos Road Widening Project; and
WHEREAS, the bid opening for the Project took place on March 25, 2025; and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the bid documents submitted by Ghilotti Brothers, Inc. and found them to be in order; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the city council exclude Additive Alternative #1 and #2 from the contract award; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the City Council award the contract to Ghilotti Brothers, Inc. of San Rafael as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The plans and specifications for the project are hereby approved.
Section 2. The city manager or designee is h ereby authorized to enter into a contract with Ghilotti Brothers, Inc. for an amount of $991,401.72.
Section 3. The public works director is hereby authorized to execute and administer change orders for an amount not-to-exceed 15% ($148,710.11) in addition to the above contract amount for a total construction authorization for this project not to exceed $1,140,110.83.
Section 4. The city manager or designee is authorized to enter into an escrow agreement for security deposits in lieu of retention for said contract, if necessary.
Section 5. The city manager or designee is hereby authorized to implement the above- mentioned contract.
