RECOMMENDED ACTION
Adopt resolution.
STATEMENT OF ISSUE
The adoption of the attached resolution will approve updates to the Landscape Oversight Committee Guidelines and Duties of the Committee that was established with Resolution No. 2023-26.
DISCUSSION
The C ity C ouncil adopted Resolution No. 2023-26 (Attachment 2 ) establishing the Fairfield Landscape Oversight Committee and Setting Forth Guidelines and Duties of the Committee.
At the request of the Committee, City staff collaborated with the Committee to further clarify and expand upon its roles and responsi bilities. In addition, the Committee expressed the need for a formal attendance policy to ensure consistent member participation. Staff worked in partnership with the Committee to review and develop proposed amendments during the Committee’s meetings on Fe bruary 27, 2025, and March 20, 2025. During these meetings, members requested additional guidance and reiterated the importance of an attendance standard.
At the April 1, 2025, City Council meeting, the council directed staff to incorporate an attendance policy consistent with those applied to other City committees and commissions.
The proposed revised guidelines (Attachment 4), including the attendance policy, were reviewed and approved by the Landscape Oversight Committee at its special meeting on April 17, 2025.
The adoption of the attached resolution will establish updates to the Landscape Oversight Committee Guidelines and Duties of the Committee as proposed in Attachment 5.

PUBLIC CONTACT/ADVISORY BODY RECOMMENDATION
The Landscape Oversight Committee and staff reviewed and developed proposed edits of the Landscape Oversight Committee Guidelines and Duties of the Committee at the February 27 and March 20, 2025 , meetings. The proposed revised guidelines, including the attend ance policy, were reviewed and approved by the Landscape Oversight Committee at its special meeting on April 17, 2025.
ALTERNATIVE ACTION
The council may choose not to approve the proposed updates to the Landscape Oversight Committee Guidelines and Duties or may direct staff to make additional revisions prior to adoption.
