RESOLUTION NO. 2025-114
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A TRAIL EASEMENT AGREEMENT, AN AMENDMENT
AND RESTATEMENT OF GRANT OF CONSERVATION EASEMENT WITH COVENANTS, WITH THE
SOLANO LAND TRUST FOR THE LINEAR PARK TRAIL
WHEREAS, the City of Fairfield and Solano Land Trust (SLT) entered into a Grant of Conservation Easement with Covenants in January 1992, which was amended in 2003, to maintain the Linear Park Trail in its natural, scenic, and open-space condition for the enjoyment and recreational use of the public; and
WHEREAS, the Solano Transportation Authority (STA) took eminent domain action in 2024 to acquire an abandoned segment o f the Linear Park Trail required to construct the Solano Westbound I-80 Cordelia. The City approved Resolution 2024-144 authorizing the conveyance of property to the STA and Caltrans and extinguishing those entitlements held by SLT; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to enter into a Trail Easement Agreement, an Amendment and Restatement of Grant of Conservation Easement with Covenants (Agreement), with the Solano Land Trust.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD HEREBY RESOLVES:
Section 1. The council finds and determines that the recitals contained herein are true and correct.
Section 2. The Agreement between the City and SLT attached herein is hereby approved.
Section 3. The mayor or designee is authorized to execute the Agreement and other pertinent and necessary documents as may be required.
Section 4. The city manager is hereby authorized to take all necessary steps to implement the above-mentioned appropriation authorization.
